Welcome to the Biggar Science Festival. This is a new addition to Biggar's programme of events and activities. Science is all around us - even in Biggar - so come along and see your community in a new light!

The 2017 Festival commenced in Biggar on Thursday 5th Oct with a science Quiz Night in The Crown, followed by Friday evening Cocktails with a Bang! in the Corn Exchange. At the core of our programme was an all ages family day of interactive experiments and workshops, held in various venues around town on Saturday. Sunday saw outdoor events and activities. In the evenings we presented talks, films and demos on a wide range of topics.

With events covering Flight and Space, Food and Drink, Sound and Light, Energy, Science and Religion, and Electronics and Computing plus much more - there really has been something for everyone.

Get Involved

We are a group of science professionals and enthusiasts who felt Biggar's science and technology credentials deserved to be shared. To celebrate the rich heritage of science, engineering and technology across Clydesdale, we need lots of support.

Funding and Sponsorship

We are delighted to have some founding support to allow the first Festival to take place, but the response to our call for events has been so huge, we know that this will become an annual event which grows each year.
